Dr. Kristi Gordon

Kristina Coop Gordon, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Engagement in the University of Tennessee’s College of Education, Health, and Human Services and the College of Social Work.

Her book, “Getting Past the Affair,” was cited by The New York Times as one of the seven most influential books on relationships, and her research has been cited in The New York Times, USA Today, Psychology Today, Men’s Health, and iVillage, as well as other national and local media. In addition to her research, teaching and service activities, Dr. Gordon maintained a private couples therapy practice in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Dr. Gordon’s research on couple and family functioning provides ways for couples to recover from major betrayals, including infidelity, and to develop healthy and stable relationships to help prevent such events. Her most recent area of focus is on how to make effective relationship interventions accessible for everyone.
